The Arroios Film Festival is coordinated by the Arroios Parish Council, in association with Arroios TV, and other public and private partners. Arroios is a parish of Lisbon, which is known by its multiculturalism. Here we find together more than seventy nationalities across five continents, in just 52 square kilometers. The main goal of the Arroios Parish Council is to reach everyone, without prejudice, and to accept and try to understand their cultural, religious and political differences. It’s not always possible to establish a connection between diversity and inclusion… in fact they seem to be distinct, incompatible notions of opposing worlds. The Arroios Parish Council aims to fight this line of thought and unite, if possible even overlap, diversity and inclusion. Diversity is an asset to be further developed by YOUR desired place.
The creation of the Arroios Film Festival aims to alert to the issue of inclusion through the 7th art. This is a festival of short films addressed to all those who make, or are interested, cinema. The theme is of inclusion, in the broadest sense of the term, to the largest crowd possible. The Arroios Film Festival aspires to be a cultural meeting place and to approach a better understanding of the various aspects of the theme of social inclusion.
